The Moscato d'Asti “Maddalena” by Adriano Marco e Vittorio is the sweet and slightly sparkling white wine that has been produced for centuries in these lands. It is made from an ancient Greek origin white grape variety, cultivated in almost all the countries of the Mediterranean area. In the beautiful hilly and cool area of the Langhe, it expresses excellent quality levels, with high-quality grapes. Its aromatic richness, its intense aromas and its seductive fruit, make it particularly suitable for the production of elegant dessert wines.
“Maddalena” is a Moscato d'Asti produced by a winery that has been cultivating vineyards in the Langhe since the early 1900s. Adriano Marco e Vittorio manage a magnificent estate in the area of Neive and the valley of Seno d'Elvio. They produce labels with a traditional face, which reflect the history of the territory well. The white Moscato is cultivated in the Avoglieri Argantino vineyard, located at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level, with exposure facing southeast, east, and west. The plants have an average age of about 15 years and sink their roots in soils characterized by the presence of white tuff marls. The grapes are pressed gently and the must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 18-20 °C, until an alcohol content of 4-5 % vol. is reached, in order to preserve a residual sugar, which makes the wine slightly sweet.
The Moscato d'Asti “Maddalena” wine from the winery of Adriano Marco e Vittorio is the historic label that has always been part of the great Piedmontese tradition. To the eye, it presents a light yellow color with bright golden reflections. Intense and aromatic, it is characterized by aromas of orange blossoms, acacia flowers, citrus peel, sage, medicinal herbs, white-fleshed fruit, and peach. The sip is soft and harmonious, with a sweet and juicy fruit, which finds a perfect balance in a finish of good freshness. It is an excellent dessert wine, particularly suitable to be enjoyed with apricot tarts, peach tarts, or with leavened sweets. It is absolutely unbeatable in pairing with Pandoro, Panettone, and Colomba.
