The Nebbiolo Coste della Sesia, made by the famous winery of Alto Piemonte Travaglini, is a smooth and pleasantly immediate red, which enhances the fruity fragrance of a great nebbiolo from Gattinara. Ideal to taste when you want a young and elegant red, which perfectly reflects the territory of origin, characterized by the typical freshness of wines that are born in the shadow of the alpine peaks. It is the ideal bottle to bring to the table to accompany tomato pasta, noble poultry, or white meat roasts.
The red Nebbiolo Coste della Sesia is produced by one of the historic wineries in the Gattinara area. Thanks to a range of high-quality labels, Travaglini has established itself as one of the most important wine brands in Piemonte. The grapes come from rather young Nebbiolo vineyards, aged between 6 and 15 years, cultivated on the hilly reliefs of Gattinara, at the foot of the Monte Rosa massif, on soils of ancient volcanic origin that are very rich in minerals. The particularly cool climate, always very windy and characterized by strong temperature variations between day and night, favors ripening with elegant aromatic profiles. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with a maceration on the skins of a couple of weeks. Before bottling, the wine matures for 3 months in steel tanks and for 8 months in large Slavonian oak barrels.
The Nebbiolo Coste della Sesia wine from Travaglini is a refined version of the classic everyday wine of the territory, which expresses the most characteristic and typical varietal aromas of the principal grape of Piemonte. In the glass, it presents a light ruby red color, with bright garnet reflections. Clear and fragrant, it opens on the nose with floral scents of violet and iris, aromas of raspberry, red currant, marasca, hints of underbrush and delicate spices. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with a fine tannic structure well integrated into a sip of pleasantly juicy fruit, which flows quickly towards a finish of good persistence, characterized by freshness and sapidity.
