The Langhe Nebbiolo signed Borgogno e Carbone is an artisanal label of fine workmanship capable of combining complexity and freshness. The protagonists of the Borgogno e Carbone winery are the inseparable friends Fabrizio Borgogno and Stefano Carbone, true wine enthusiasts who in 2019 decided to give life to this beautiful joint project starting from Fabrizio's family's vineyards, which have been winegrowers in Verduno for generations. The duo also collaborates in running the osteria More & Macine, a landmark in La Morra, as well as managing an import company of French wines. The beautiful label of this Langhe Nebbiolo is the work of Quentin Maza, a French artist well known in the wine world, having collaborated with numerous companies in the sector.
Borgogno e Carbone Langhe Nebbiolo is made exclusively from grapes of the black berry variety of the same name grown in the Verduno area, on sandy-calcareous soils at an altitude of between 350 and 400 metres above sea level. The vines range in age from 35 to a good 85 years and every process is carried out by hand, including of course the harvest. In the cellar, the grapes are vinified in red with spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in contact with the skins in stainless steel tanks. Once the fermentation process is complete, the wine is racked into large oak barrels for several months of maturation before final bottling.
Borgogno and Carbone's Langhe Nebbiolo has a fascinating soft ruby red hue. The nose ranges from intriguing aromas of small fruits such as strawberry, maraschino cherry and blackberry to hints of orange peel, rose and clove, with light earthy sensations in the background. Savoury and dynamic on the palate, with beautiful freshness and intense fragrance, characterised by tight tannins that do not preclude the smoothness of the sip.
