The renowned wine estate from Piemonte, Prunotto, presents the Langhe Nebbiolo ‘Occhetti’, a red wine with a seductive personality produced from the grapes of the single vineyard Occhetti, in Monteu Roero. The Prunotto winery is located in the municipality of Alba and has been managed by the famous Marchesi Antinori family since 1989, initially involved only in distribution and later, in 1994, also in production, always maintaining the highest quality standards that have characterized the winery since its foundation. The Langhe Nebbiolo ‘Occhetti’ is a historic label for the estate, produced since the 1970s.
Prunotto Langhe Nebbiolo ‘Occhetti’ is a 100% Nebbiolo whose grapes come from the homonymous vineyard in Monteu Roero where the soils, located at about 250 meters above sea level, are made up of shallow sandy layers interspersed with gravel levels and clay-limestone intercalations. Once harvested, the bunches are destemmed and crushed, with the subsequent fermentation phase taking place in stainless steel tanks, accompanied by 7 days of maceration.on the skins. After the complete malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in large barrels for 14 months before bottling and further resting for 4 months in glass.
‘Occhetti’ Langhe Nebbiolo Prunotto has a transparent ruby red color. The nose offers pleasant and complex aromas of cherry jam, blackberry, raspberry, red rose, cinchona, and licorice. Soft and warm taste, fresh and flavorful, with a delicate tannic structure that leads to a long and harmonious finish. This is an interpretation of Nebbiolo with great versatility in food-wine pairing, suitable for various meat preparations as well as aged cheeses and flavorful first courses based on mushrooms.
