NERO DI PREDAPPIO NICOLUCCI 2024 DESCRIPTION

The Nero di Predappio is a red wine from Romagna intense, full-bodied, and structured, which well represents the tradition of wines from the Region. It is born from a blend that combines a typical grape of the territory like Sangiovese with Terrano, an ancient indigenous grape variety cultivated almost exclusively in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Also thanks to aging in barrique, the wine expresses a complex and deep bouquet with notes of ripe fruit, hints of underbrush, and spices. A label of great personality and character, which finds the best pairings at the table with second courses of red meats.

The Nero di Predappio wine is produced by the Nicolucci farm, one of the historical realities of the Region, always committed to enhancing the best traditions of the territory. The vineyards are cultivated in a hilly area at over 300 meters above sea level, on clay-limestone soils rich in minerals. The Sangiovese of Predappio is a particular clone of this ancient grape variety, present in this area of Romagna for centuries. It is blended with a percentage of Terrano, which gives the wine structure, power, and tannins. After the harvest, the grapes are vinified in red and the wine matures for 9 months in oak barriques, finishing the aging period with 3 months in the bottle.

The Nero di Predappio from the Nicolucci Farm is a red of great personality that combines the characteristics of two important indigenous grape varieties. The elegance and fruit of Sangiovese blend with the rough depth of Terrano. In the glass, it has an intense and dark red color, almost impenetrable. On the nose, it expresses shady hints of underbrush, small dark berries, spicy, balsamic aromas, and woody notes. On the palate, it shows great structure, a dense sip with a tight tannic weave and balanced freshness. The finish is long and persistent.
