NOBILE DI MONTEPULCIANO 'GRANDI ANNATE' AVIGNONESI 2018 DESCRIPTION

The red wine Sangiovese "Grandi Annate" is born from the ambition of the Avignonesi winery to stop time, enclosing it in a bottle. Indeed, this label wants to highlight the peculiarities of the vintage, offering a sip as expressive as possible of the terroir of origin. An ambitious goal, which allows one to appreciate Sangiovese in its truest and most authentic form, only when the vintage proves to meet the quality standards set by the winery. An excellent Tuscan wine, to be tasted without ifs and buts.

"Grandi Annate" is a Tuscan red that comes to life from the pure grapes of a great red berry variety, Sangiovese. The vines, whose average age is around 42 years, grow in vineyards located at an altitude between 310 and 375 meters above sea level, within a territory mainly composed of clay. The grapes, once they arrive in the winemaking facilities, ferment spontaneously thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts in containers.in steel, macerating on the skins for about 20 days. Then the aging continues, carried out for 18 months in French oak barriques and in new tonneaux at 20%, and for the remaining 80%, in second and third passage barrels.

The wine 'Grandi Annate' reveals itself in the glass with a beautiful color, typically ruby. The olfactory spectrum is played on a progression of sumptuous notes, which from floral and fruity aromas leads to discovering more woody and spicy sensations. On the palate, it has excellent structure, round, with a sip that impresses with its pleasant freshness and savory texture. A label with which the Avignonesi winery aims to faithfully interpret the essence of the vintage spent in the vineyard, raising the quality level to truly interesting peaks.
