PETITE ARVINE 'NUANCES' OTTIN 2023 DESCRIPTION

The “Nuances” Petite Arvine is a wine from Valle d'Aosta that comes from a late harvest. It is therefore a bottle with a full-bodied profile, where aromas and sensations on the palate abound in a whirlwind of notes and flavors that always result well-ordered, never confusing or chaotic. Thanks to the Ottin winery, a young production reality located in the Porossan Neyves fraction, in the province of Aosta, which in just over 10 years has managed to create a range of quality, where each label has its own precise personality. This also happens with this “Nuances”, a compact, intense, and elegant white, which possesses an incredible gastronomic versatility.

The “Nuances” Petite Arvine is made from the homonymous grapes, originally from Switzerland and imported within the borders of Valle d'Aosta in the middle of the last century. It is a semi-aromatic grape variety with delayed ripening, which the Ottin winery harvests in early October, when the bunches are already affected by noble rot or “botrytis cinerea”. The must ferments in stainless steel containers, then ages for 12 months in tonneau with a capacity of 500 liters. At the end of this period, the wine is ready to be bottled and marketed.

The Petite Arvine “Nuances” presents itself in the glass with a straw yellow color, intense and crystalline to the eye. The aromatic profile on the nose is original, telling a story of notes made of exotic fruit, spices, smoky hints, and light buttery touches, which enhance a certain pleasantness on the finish. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, enveloping, with a savory and refreshing sip, of excellent harmony. A typically Valle d'Aostan expression that shows the alpine and refreshing side of this characteristic variety.
