The Pignoletto Superiore Classico from the Emilia-based Manaresi estate represents one of the most interesting labels of the winery, a Pignoletto capable of combining depth and dynamism, the result of certified organic farming. At the helm of the Manaresi winery is Donatella Agostoni, who, supported by her husband Fabio Bottonelli, decided to dedicate the estate's name to her grandfather, the important 20th-century artist Paolo Manaresi, a painter and engraver chosen by Giorgio Morandi as his successor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. Donatella and Fabio then entrusted the technical and oenological direction to the talent and experience of Emiliano Falsini, one of the most well-known and respected Italian winemakers.
The Pignoletto Superiore Classico Manaresi originates from only Pignoletto grapes, a clone of Grechetto Gentile widespread in Emilia, carefully selected from the best rows of a vineyard over 20 years old, located in the classic area of the hills of Zola Predosa. The harvest is carried out entirely by hand in the first decade of September with a careful selection of the grapes, which are then vinified in white through controlled temperature alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks without contact with the skins. The subsequent maturation phase, which takes place on the fine lees, also occurs in steel, and after an additional appropriate resting in the bottle, the wine is finally ready for market release.
Manaresi Pignoletto Classico Superiore has an intense straw yellow color with greenish reflections. On the nose, pleasant floral aromas of white flowers are initially perceived, enriched by citrus and vegetal hints and fruity notes of pear and pineapple. The taste development is crystalline and decisive, fresh and flavorful, endowed with a truly pleasant aromaticity that lingers long alongside mineral notes.
