This Pinot Bianco is a wine made in Alto Adige by the Girlan winery, from the estate vineyards that stretch around the municipality of Cornaiano. Here, Pinot Bianco, an international grape variety that is widely cultivated by various producers within the regional borders, finds the ideal conditions for optimal growth, resulting in a product with a harmonious character, to be enjoyed now to savor it at the peak of its quality journey, perhaps paired with a fish dinner. A linear bottle, pleasant to drink, where nothing seems out of place.
Girlan Pinot Bianco is born from the homonymous grapes grown on the hills of Oltradige near Cornaiano, in well-ventilated vineyards located at an altitude between 450 and 500 meters above sea level. The terroir is characterized by a mineral-rich subsoil and sediments from the glacial period. The grapes, once harvested during the vintage, are gently pressed, and then fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The wine remains in steel to mature for a few months, until the bottling and marketing operations are carried out.
The Pinot Bianco made by Girlan reveals itself visually with a bright color, reminiscent of straw yellow. The nose is permeated with citrus and floral notes, which also hint at light touches of mountain herbs. On the palate, it is light-bodied, vibrant, and smooth, with a sip characterized by a pleasant freshness, and excellent aromatic clarity. A label with which Girlan faithfully interprets the Alto Adige terroir, with a bottle that is also appreciated for its interesting quality-price ratio, truly very appealing.
