PINOT NERO RISERVA 'TRATTMANN' GIRLAN 2023 DESCRIPTION

The “Trattmann” is a Pinot Nero Riserva from Alto Adige where elegance and structure go hand in hand, telling the potential of this grape variety within the terroir of Mazzon, a small hamlet above Egna. Here, the altitude, combined with a climate that alternates refreshing breezes with very sunny days, provides the ideal conditions for optimal growth of each bunch. The result is a label of excellent quality, with which Girlan ranks at the top of the main Italian sector guides. A red to try without hesitation.

This Pinot Nero Riserva “Trattmann” is born from pure grapes of an international red grape variety that, in Trentino Alto Adige, manages to express itself at consistently interesting quality levels, Pinot Nero. The grapes of this variety are cultivated by Girlan in the Trattmann estate, located on the slopes of Mazzon, an area incredibly suited for the production of this grape variety. We are at about 400 meters above sea level, in a vineyard facing southwest, characterized by a clay subsoil that contains silt. The berries, once harvested, ferment in steel for 18-20 days at controlled temperature, also undergoing malolactic fermentation. The aging lasts for 15 months and is carried out in both large and small oak barrels.

The red wine “Trattmann” is a Pinot Nero Riserva that, upon visual examination, shows a light ruby red color, also characterized by slight nuances tending towards garnet at the rim. On the nose, broad and layered aromas are perceived, where the ripe red fruit develops on a framework made up of various notes. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, harmonious, with a delicate, subtle, and enveloping sip, where the tannin is perfectly integrated into the overall structure. A label signed by Girlan with which Pinot Nero reaches one of the most important qualitative peaks of the entire Trentino Alto Adige region.
