The Pinot Nero "La Fiocca" is a red wine elegant and with good drinkability produced in Oltrepò Pavese by the winery Piccolo Bacco dei Quaroni, a small reality that works away from the logic of industrial production to interpret the principles of craftsmanship in accordance with nature and ancient farming practices. A few hectares of land cultivated by Mario Cavalli who promotes sustainable agriculture, a prelude to true and spontaneous labels. Simple and genuine wines like this Pinot Nero, an excellent table companion, endowed with a delicate aromatic profile and a fresh and clear taste.
The Pinot Nero from the winery Piccolo Bacco dei Quaroni is obtained from pure grapes grown in the vineyard La Fiocca in the municipality of Bosnasco in the province of Pavia. The cultivation philosophy follows the principles of organic farming; among the rows, natural cover crops remain, and fertilizations are limited and predominantly organic. The plants from which this red is obtained are between 30 and 40 years old and have a limited yield per hectare to give few intense and flavorful fruits. The harvest takes place in the first decade of September in 20 kg crates and the bunches are pressed immediately after picking. The must ferments in steel tanks on the skins at controlled temperature thanks to selected yeasts. The aging involves resting for a few months in steel tanks.
The Pinot Nero "La Fiocca" appears in the glass with a delicate ruby red color. The nose is delighted by floral notes and small ripe red fruits and delicate spicy nuances. The sip is clear, smooth, and balanced. A pleasantly fresh and clean red that ultimately convinces with sapidity and drinkability. A bottle suitable for everyday tables, to be paired with game and meat dishes.
