Albert Mann's Pinot Noir 'Clos de la Faille' is a fine Alsace red from a 'monopole', i.e. a prized cru owned exclusively by the winery. The vines are planted on a unique, complex soil of pink limestone and quartz sandstone. The grapes, of great quality, ripen for a long time to express the wine's complexity to the full. Small red fruits and fresh vegetable notes reminiscent of vine leaves emerge on the nose; in the mouth it is fine, taut and harmonious, with tannins present but discreet. A great wine, ideal with red meat and mushrooms
Dark ruby red
Great finesse, first red fruits such as currants and wild strawberries, then vegetal touches of undergrowth and truffle
Balanced, graceful but not slender, round and very elegant, great juice
