Thomas Rivier's Régnié 'Domaine' comes from bush-trained vines grown on granite-rich soils, characteristic of this prized but lesser-known corner of Beaujolais. The distinctive feature of this wine lies in its ageing in old, almost neutral barriques, which allow for good oxygenation and round out the palate. The nose reveals notes of wild strawberry and black pepper, followed by a balanced and elegant palate with soft tannins. Excellent with semi-hard cheeses or earthy first courses such as tajarin with farmyard ragù
Pale ruby red with slight garnet hues
Complex aromas of cherry and raspberry, hints of earthiness and flint, finish with undergrowth
Soft and warm, subtle with a distinct savoury finish
