La Roncaia Ribolla Gialla is produced with grapes from an estate vineyard located on Eocene-origin soils based on marls and clay and its planting density is about 4000 vines per hectare. The grapes are strictly hand-harvested towards the end of September, upon reaching optimal ripeness, and are transported to the winery to start the alcoholic fermentation. The latter takes place in stainless steel tanksat controlled temperature and is followed by a maturation of about 8 months on the fine lees, to give this territorial white body and sensory richness.
The Ribolla Gialla from Roncaia presents itself with a brilliant straw yellow color and expresses, with remarkable intensity, an aromatic bouquet that opens with delicate floral notes, then shifts to tones of aromatic herbs like sage and finally concludes with citrus details of lemon zest. On the palate, it is mineral and has a broad refreshing charge, while its elegant structure is balanced by a soft roundness, due to the sur lie aging. An enveloping Friulian white that simply expresses elegance and territory, embodying the best characteristics of the Colli Orientali and making them known on the international scene.
