RIBOLLA GIALLA 'L'ADELCHI' VENICA 2024 DESCRIPTION

The Ribolla Gialla “Adelchi” is a white wine that is as delicate and intriguing in aromas as it is pleasant on the palate. Freshness and minerality are the keys to this Friulian wine, convincing in every aspect. A label with which Venica continues a winemaking tradition that, starting from the 1930s, is characterized by the continuous quality consistency with which it manages to present the typical grape varieties of Collio in purity. Excellent to uncork right now, it can still rest in the cellar for another couple of years, allowing you to taste it with an even more evolved character.

“L’Adelchi” is a pure Ribolla Gialla, a white grape variety among the most representative of the entire Friulian viticulture. In particular, Venica cultivates it within the DOC of Collio, one of the areas most suited to it. The grapes are harvested around mid-September through a strictly manual harvest. The must macerates on the skins for 10-12 hours in the absence of oxygen, and then ferments both in large wooden barrels (for 60% of the mass) and in steel.large wooden barrels (for 60% of the mass) and in steel. This percentage is also maintained during the aging phase (which lasts for 5 months), at the end of which the wine is ready to be bottled and marketed.

“Adelchi” is a Ribolla Gialla that visually announces itself with a light straw yellow color, crossed by flashes more tending towards greenish. Citrus and minerality are the first hints that reach the nose, followed by floral touches and nuances that recall the underbrush vegetation. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, rich, enhanced by a fresh and savory sip; it finishes with an aftertaste characterized by good persistence. The Friulian Collio comes to life in this label signed by Venica, ideal for accompanying festive atmospheres at the table.

When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied white wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
