RIBOLLA GIALLA 'RONCALTO' LIVON 2024 DESCRIPTION

The Ribolla Gialla "RoncAlto" from the Livon winery is one of the most typical wines of the territory. It is made from Ribolla Gialla grapes, an ancient white grape variety that has been present for centuries in the hilly area of Collio Goriziano and Goriska Brda. It is a young and fresh version, which thanks to careful vinification, carried out exclusively in steel, brings to the forefront the best varietal qualities of the grape. It is a white wine with a delicate and subtle profile, with fragrant citrus and fruity aromas. It is ideal to enjoy with seafood appetizers or with delicate fish dishes. The Ribolla Gialla is excellent to drink young, but it also has good aging potential.

The Ribolla Gialla "RoncAlto" is a white wine that expresses the most authentic and sincere character of the Collio territory. The Livon winery cultivates vineyards in one of the most vocated areas of the region, right next to the Slovenian border. The estate is divided into various plots, each characterized by a particular microclimate, so that each grape variety can be cultivated in the best areas.

The Ribolla Gialla is cultivated in the RoncAlto locality. The grape variety needs to be cultivated in the highest parts of the hills to express itself at excellent levels, where the poorer soils rich in skeleton naturally contain its exuberance and productive generosity. The extraordinary quality of the grapes allows for the production of wines of great authenticity and typicity, true gems of the Friulian land.

The Ribolla Gialla "RoncAlto", produced by the Livon winery, originates from the splendid hills of the Ruttars area, in the municipality of Dolegna del Collio, in one of the most vocated areas for the cultivation of white grape varieties. The cool and sunny climate and the strong temperature excursions ensure perfect ripening of the grapes. At the end of the harvest, the grapes are cold macerated for eight hours and then gently pressed. The free-run must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16 °C. Before bottling, the wine rests for at least 8 months in steel tanks.

In the glass, it presents a light straw yellow color with bright greenish reflections. The olfactory profile recalls scents of white flowers, citrus fragrances, fruity aromas, and hints of Mediterranean scrub herbs. The taste is savory and smooth, with delicate aromas, leading to a finish of vibrant citrus freshness.

When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied white wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
