Rum 'Solera 12' Prohibido

Prohibido's Rum 'Solera 12' revives a clandestine recipe from the 18th century, when Chinguirito, as Mexican rum was called, was banned by King Philip V to protect Spanish spirits. Aged for twelve years using the Solera method in ex-wine barrels, this rum has a distinctive feature: the addition of sweet wine, which creates a fascinating sweet-bitter contrast on the palate. The nose reveals aromas of dates, dried figs, cinnamon and vanilla with hints of sweet spices. On the palate, it reveals an enveloping softness, well-balanced sweetness and a bitter finish that provides balance and persistence
