Rosato 'Vinudilice' I Vigneri 2024

I Vigneri’s ‘Vinudilice’ Rosé is a Sicilian wine made from grapes grown in vineyards situated next to a holm oak forest. In Sicilian dialect, these trees are called ‘Ilice’; ‘Vinudilice’ therefore means ‘wine from the holm oak forest’. The winery operates on Mount Etna and cultivates some of Sicily’s highest vineyards, at around 1,100 metres above sea level and approximately 10 kilometres from the volcano’s main crater. The vines are trained using the traditional Etnean bush system, and some of these vines, which are over a century old, are as old as 100 years. The aroma evokes notes of fragrant fruit such as currants and pomegranate, hints of grapefruit zest and touches of rose petals. The palate is taut and vertical with a long, salty finish. Excellent paired with swordfish rolls, served with tomatoes, capers and olives

When to open
To enjoy an artisanal wine at its best, we recommend you to let it 'breathe' at least 15-30 minutes before serving
When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied rosé wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
Longevity
You can safely leave it to age in the cellar for 2–3 years
