Arribas Wine Company's 'Raiola' is a dry, artisanal red wine made from very old vines over seventy years old in Trás-os-Montes, in the Douro region. It is a blend of many different grape varieties, both white and red, which are co-fermented and macerated together. It is a wine designed more for drinkability than power, with a profile that recalls Portuguese rural tradition. The nose reveals notes of ripe red fruit, dried herbs and a hint of saltiness, while the palate is smooth, dry, with a marked freshness and savoury texture. It pairs well with roast meats and country cuisine, such as roast lamb, but also with mature cheeses
Bright ruby red
Ripe, juicy cherry, thyme, marjoram, geranium and hints of pepper
Juicy, with fine tannins, taut on the palate, smooth and direct
