Sauvignon 'Col Matìss' La Tunella 2023

The Sauvignon "Col Matìss" from La Tunella is a white wine from Friuli where the aromatic progression strikes the nose of enthusiasts. "Col Matìss" La Tunella is a pure Sauvignon, grown using the short Friulian monocapovolto system in vineyards included within the denomination of Colli Orientali del Friuli. The grapes are harvested at the right degree of ripeness and after destemming, the pressing phase of the berries is carried out. The must undergoes a cold static decantation and then begins a slow fermentation in Slavonian oak barrels. The aging then continues on the lees in wood for a total of 15 months. Only after an additional period of rest in the bottle will be released on the market.

The Sauvignon "Col Matìss" La Tunella presents itself to the eye with a crystalline straw yellow color. Tropical fruit opens the olfactory journey that unfolds as you bring the glass to your nose, touching more herbaceous sensations and hints of aromatic herbs, also passing through light spicy whiffs; in the finish, a scent of flint emerges. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, precise, and sharp thanks to an expressive sip that highlights freshness and sapidity. It ends with a good palate persistence. A label that invites us to a repeated sip, qualitatively important as evidenced by the consistency of the scores obtained over the last few years.
