SAUVIGNON 'VIERIS' VIE DI ROMANS 2023 DESCRIPTION

The Sauvignon “Vieris” from the Friulian winery Vie di Romans is an intense white wine with an aromatic profile, made from one of the most widespread and beloved international white grape varieties in the world. Sauvignon Blanc has been present for centuries in the Friulian lands, where it has found the climate and soils to express itself at excellent qualitative levels. The “Vieris” is a rich and mature interpretation, which, thanks to aging in wood, presents a complex, broad, and rich bouquet, with notes of ripe fruit and exotic fruit of great tasting persistence.

The wine “Vieris” is a Sauvignon Blanc that originates in the lands of Isonzo, particularly in the area of Mariano del Friuli. It is here that the winery Vie di Romans manages a property of about 60 hectares with a particular preference for white grape varieties, among which Sauvignon Blanc stands out. The cool and sunny climate and the very draining soils, predominantly alluvial in origin, rich in skeleton and mineral substances, allow for grapes to achieve a perfect degree of ripeness and with aromas very intense and rich. Thus, wines are born that, while using almost exclusively international varieties, manage to take on a profile of great typicity and territorial authenticity. Vie di Romans has been one of the wineries in the Friulian wine world that has most contributed to the enhancement of the Isonzo area, which today represents one of the most important productive realities of the region.

The “Vieris” Sauvignon from Vie di Romans is an interpretation of this classic French grape variety in the sign of complexity and richness. After a cold skin maceration, vinification proceeds with low-temperature fermentation lasting about three weeks. The wine ages for 8 months in barrique and completes its aging with 8 months in bottle before being released for sale. In the glass, it has a golden yellow color. On the nose, it expresses ripe aromas of yellow fruit and tropical fruit, hints of papaya and nuances of ginger. On the palate, it presents itself broad, with fruity aromas, hints of wood and pleasant exotic softness, well balanced by a finish characterized by a lively freshness. A Sauvignon with a strong gastronomic vocation suitable for important pairings.
