Carl Koch's Silvaner 'Alte Reben' is a white wine from Hesse, west of the Rhine River. As the name suggests, the wine is produced from vines that are over 60 years old, giving it greater concentration and depth of expression. The grapes are vinified exclusively in steel, with subsequent ageing on fine lees, a choice that preserves aromatic precision and gustatory momentum. The nose reveals hints of ripe yellow fruit, chamomile, aromatic herbs and a slight spiciness. The palate is juicy and structured, supported by lively freshness and a persistent mineral finish. Excellent with baked trout fillet with asparagus
