SPARKLING CLASSIC METHOD DOSAGE ZERO 'VERGOMBERRA' MAGNUM VERDI 2021 DESCRIPTION

The “Vergomberra” is an Extra Brut Metodo Classico sparkling wine with strong personality, expressing the authenticity of Oltrepò Pavese. Bruno Verdi’s choice, in the final stages of production, excludes any dosage liqueur, preserving a more natural expression of the territory. This approach pairs with a production philosophy focused on long aging on the lees, enhancing character and depth in the final sip. Class and refinement define this bottle.

The “Vergomberra” by Bruno Verdi is a Metodo Classico sparkling wine crafted from a blend of 70% Pinot Nero and 30% Chardonnay. The vineyards, located in Canneto Pavese at an altitude of around 150–200 meters above sea level, are trained using the spur-trained cordon and Guyot systems. The first fermentation of the must takes place partly in stainless steel and for about 15% of the mass in Austrian barriques over a period of six months. The second fermentation occurs in the bottle following Metodo Classico techniques, and the wine then ages on the lees for 42 months.

The Extra Brut Spumante Metodo Classico “Vergomberra” shows a bright straw-yellow color with a fine and subtle perlage of remarkable persistence. The aromatic progression is refined, opening on notes of fruit and citrus, gradually giving way to hints of lavender and yeast nuances. On the palate it is well-structured, with an inviting creamy mousse and a pleasantly fresh finish, embodying the historical vocation of Oltrepò Pavese for high-quality sparkling wines.
