SPUMANTE METODO CLASSICO ROSÉ 'PERLINETTO' VALLEPICCIOLA DESCRIPTION

The Metodo Classico Rosé 'Perlinetto' of the Tuscan winery Vallepicciola is part of the Italian bubble wine production trend, even outside the territories of appellations historically dedicated to sparkling wine production. A trend that has made it possible to highlight how even this territory, generally oriented towards the production of great still wines based on Sangiovese, is capable of proposing very interesting labels. Characterised by good structure and personality, it is an excellent sparkling wine to enjoy with white meat dishes.

The Metodo Classico Rosé 'Perlinetto' sees the light near Castelnuovo Berardenga a few kilometres from Siena. The Vallepicciola estate has a total surface area of 265 hectares, sixty of which are dedicated to viticulture. The soils are very varied, mainly composed of clay marl, sandstone, sand and tuff. Production has always been oriented towards proposing to wine lovers wines that best represent the excellence of the Chianti lands. The wine is the fruit of a selection of Pinot Noir grapes from the estate, harvested slightly in advance to preserve a higher acidity, indispensable for making excellent bases for sparkling wines. The bunches are pressed very gently using dry ice to avoid oxidation and the free-run juice is then vinified in white. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and the base wines are matured for 6 months on the fine lees before blending and second fermentation in the bottle according to the Metodo Classico with a minimum 48 months' rest on the lees.

Vallepicciola's Spumante Rosé 'Perlinetto' is a Metodo Classico that blends the centuries-old vocation of viticulture in the Chianti region with the noble tradition of Champagne and the region's most famous black grape. A seductive light pink colour with brilliant reflections, it displays a very fine and persistent perlage. The bouquet expresses on the nose floral aromas of dried rose petals and violets, hints of citrus fruits, pink grapefruit, hints of pomegranate, redcurrant, raspberry, wild strawberries, nuances of bread crust and yeast. On the palate, it is ample and creamy, with delicate facets of small red berries and a lively, fragrant sip that stretches harmoniously towards a savoury, very fresh finish.
