SYRAH STEFANO AMERIGHI 2022 DESCRIPTION

Stefano Amerighi's Syrah is a complex and deep red wine, and an absolute reference when it comes to Syrah in Italy. Stefano Amerighi, a winemaker in Cortona, is a name that needs no introduction, although this acquired status is the result of constant work and continuous improvement. Adding to this, Cortona, due to its soil and climatic conditions, is probably the area where Syrah fully realizes its expressive potential, to the point of being compared to the masters of the Rhône. In the vineyard, care is meticulous, following the principles of sustainable agriculture to preserve the vitality of soil and fruit. The same philosophy is applied in the cellar. Vigilant care without any overbearing intervention. The results speak for themselves, astonishing with each passing year for definition and three-dimensionality. Among the greats.

Amerighi's Syrah is a pure expression of the grape, obtained from biodynamically grown grapes in Cortona. As mentioned earlier, no chemical or synthetic substances are used in the vineyard, and the same mindset continues in the cellar, where the grapes are foot-pressed, and all fermentations occur spontaneously. The liquid undergoes no filtration or clarification and matures partly in small wood and partly in concrete.

Amerighi's Syrah presents itself in the glass with an intense and impenetrable ruby robe. The nose, kaleidoscopic, carries notes of black pepper, tobacco, blueberry, and graphite, all expressed gradually and cohesively. The taste is intense, rhythmic, and flavorful, with a caressing tactility but never complacent. It brings the balance that distinguishes the exceptional and especially those liquids with a long range, capable of lasting and even improving over time.
