Tenuta Cavalier Pepe's Taurasi 'Opera Mia' is made from 100% Aglianico grapes. It is a structured and imposing red wine, coming from the Carazita Pesano and Brussineta vineyards in the village of Sant'Angelo all'Esca. Maceration on the skins lasts about twenty days and ageing continues for twelve months in French oak barriques. The bouquet is complex with notes of black cherry and blueberry, hints of dried violet petals, balsamic notes and toasted hints on the finish. The palate is full-bodied and mineral, with fine tannins and an intense, persistent finish. Excellent with structured meat dishes, such as Irpinia pork soffritto
