TEQUILA BLANCO CASCAHUIN DESCRIPTION

Cascahuin Tequila Blanco represents a tequila with a pure and authentic character crafted through traditional practices. Among these, the use of the Tahona wheel, an ancient tool used for pressing agave and usually made of basalt volcanic rock, is certainly one of the most fascinating. This is a slower and more labor-intensive pressing technique compared to modern machinery, but it rewards with an exceptional quality of tequila. With this Tequila Blanco, the Cascahuin estate evokes the ancestral dimension of tequila, the truest and most traditional one.

The Tequila Blanco Cascahuin is made from pure blue Weber agave hand-harvested at full ripeness when the plant has reached an age between 8 and 10 years. After the manual cleaning of the agave, the sugary core of the plant, locally called “piña” due to its appearance resembling that of pineapple, is cooked in traditional stone ovens. The piñas cooked are then pressed under the Tahona wheel and the sugary juice obtained undergoes alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. This is followed by the double distillation of the fermented liquid through copper and steel stills and then dilution with light and pure water before the final bottling. Throughout the entire process, the use of any additives is excluded.

Upon visual examination, the Tequila Blanco from the Cascahuin production reality reveals a transparent and crystalline appearance. The olfactory range is described by sensations of raisins, lime, and cooked agave, followed by fruity aromas of peach and notes of dried fruit. On the palate, it is sweet, silky, and balanced, with excellent taste persistence on peppery, vegetal, and citrus perceptions that evoke the sense of smell.
