TREBBIANO D'ABRUZZO APOLLO AUSONIA 2023 DESCRIPTION

The Trebbiano d'Abruzzo 'Apollo' by Ausonia is a bottle that makes dynamicity and smoothness its strengths. Belonging to the vast family of Trebbiani, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo has long been confused with Bombino Bianco and Trebbiano Toscano, a situation that has not helped its widespread diffusion in the region. In this sense, it does not help that the regulations of the DOC Trebbiano d'Abruzzo allow the use of Trebbiano Toscano and Bombino Bianco, as well as Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, either individually or jointly for a minimum percentage of 85%.

Ausonia Trebbiano d'Abruzzo 'Apollo' comes from only Trebbiano d'Abruzzo grown at 270 meters above sea level on soils mainly composed of clay and limestone. The plants, trained according to the Abruzzese pergola system, are managed following the principles of certified organic farming and biodynamics. After the harvest, which is carried out entirely by hand, the grapes are pressed and alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks.stainless steel for the intervention of only indigenous yeasts, with complete development of malolactic fermentation. The aging phase of about 10 months takes place always in steel and the wine is finally bottled without undergoing any clarification or filtration operations.

To the eye, the Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Ausonia 'Apollo' takes on a pale straw yellow color. The intense and persistent aromatic profile reveals fruity hints of peach, floral notes of jasmine, and descriptors of aromatic herbs like thyme. Good balance on the palate between softness and a distinct fresh-salty verve, with a lasting and silky finish that recalls sensations of pineapple and apple.

When to open
To enjoy an artisanal wine at its best, we recommend you to let it 'breathe' at least 15-30 minutes before serving
When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied white wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
Longevity
You can let it rest in the cellar comfortably for 2-3 years
