Trento Spumante Pas Dosé 'Clou' Tenuta Maso Corno 2019

Tenuta Maso Corno's Trento Spumante Pas Dosé 'Clou' is a fresh, mineral Metodo Classico in which the Chardonnay, the prince of the blend, is joined by a smaller proportion of Pinot Noir. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 500 metres in Valbona di Ala, on dolomitic soil that contributes to making this wine distinctly mineral. Mild hints of flowers and white fruit open the scene to iodine hints that lend good complexity to the aromatic park. On the palate, it is fresh, savoury and enveloping, offering an intriguing drink with clear verticality. A bottle that powerfully embodies the mountain character of Trento DOC sparkling wines.

TRENTO SPUMANTE PAS DOSÉ 'CLOU' TENUTA MASO CORNO 2019 DESCRIPTION

The Trento Spumante Pas Dosé 'Clou' is one of Tenuta Maso Corno's finest bubbles, made in a very limited edition from a blend of high-altitude Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. We are in Ala, on the Trentino slopes of the Lessini Mountains, a place where, at an altitude of 500 metres above sea level, lies the vineyard of Giulio Larcher, the young owner of Tenuta Maso Corno. This label reveals the full potential of the area's bubbles, interpreted through the producer's refined and precise style.

The 'Clou' Tenuta Maso Corno Spumante Trento Pas Dosé consists of a blend of Chardonnay (70%) and Pinot Noir (30%) grapes, from 30-year-old vines cultivated on dolomitic-calcareous soils at an altitude of approximately 500 metres above sea level. Following the harvest, which is carried out entirely by hand, the grapes are carefully selected and then subjected to gentle pressing. The Pinot Noir must is then vinified in stainless steel tanks while the Chardonnay must is vinified in French oak barriques. Malolactic fermentation is carried out completely, contributing to the wine's softness and complexity, and after blending of the two masses, bottle fermentation according to the Metodo Classico is carried out, combined with at least 40 months of ageing on the lees before disgorging. The sparkling wine is finally marketed without any dosage, as Pas Dosé.

The Pas Dosé Tenuta Maso Corno Trento Spumante 'Clou' has a brilliant straw-yellow hue with a persistent bubble. The aromatic bouquet is refined and complex, described by notes of lemon peel and jasmine that blend with mineral hints of iodine on the finish. The sip is ample and fresh, creamy and with good flavour, with a long aromatic persistence on the finish.
