VALPOLICELLA RIPASSO SUPERIORE 'MORANDINA' PRÀ 2020 DESCRIPTION

The Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore “Morandina” by Graziano Prà is a red wine made from the classic indigenous grape varieties of the hilly area of Verona: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Oseleta. It is the most recent wine from Valpolicella, born from the intuition of creating a new label using the pomace of Amarone, the symbolic wine of the territory, a true ambassador of Valpolicella in the world. It is a intense and full-bodied red that captivates with its complex and multifaceted aromas and its balanced final persistence.

The “Morandina” Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore is born in the vineyards of Graziano Prà's estate, one of the most famous winemakers in the Verona area, an essential reference point for those who love wines with a straightforward and typically territorial character. The meticulous work in the fields and the use of organic farming regulations naturally lead to cellar practices that are always very respectful of the quality of the grapes. The vineyards of indigenous red grapes from Verona are located in the hilly area of Mezzane, on soils characterized by calcareous-clay marls, with the presence of sands. At the end of fermentation, it is passed over the pomace of Amarone with 5 days of maceration. Before being bottled, the wine matures for 12 months in Allier oak tonneaux.

The Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore “Morandina”, produced by Graziano Pra, is an intense and elegant red. In the glass, it presents a ruby red color with violet hues. On the nose, it expresses a fruity bouquet, with notes of cherry, blackberry, small berries and spices from the East. On the palate, it has a good structure, with soft tannins well integrated into the body of the wine. The aromas are broad and complex, with a harmonious and very persistent finish.
