Valtènesi Rosso 'Frontecasa' from the Pasini San Giovanni winery is made exclusively from Groppello Gentile grapes. This grape variety, native to the Brescia side of Lake Garda, was planted by the Pasini family in 1978. The name of the wine, 'Frontecasa', pays homage to the Groppello vineyards that were located in front of Cascina San Giovanni, the original residence of the winery. The nose opens with red and black berries, with a slight finish of sweet spices such as pink pepper. The palate is agile and smooth, the tannins are delicate and the finish is savoury and persistent. Perfect with mature cheeses or pasta with white ragù
