Verdicchio Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 'SP' Radiz La Staffa 2024

Verdicchio Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 'SP' Radiz is a collaboration between Callmewine and La Staffa, a young and promising winery in the Marche region. The grapes are harvested from a vineyard planted in the 1980s, at an altitude of 350 metres in the hills of San Paolo di Jesi. Only cement and fine lees are used. On the nose, broom flowers and white peach intertwine with fresh and aromatic herbaceous notes. On the palate, vibrant freshness is combined with a savoury and enveloping texture. Perfect with saffron risotto and red prawns

VERDICCHIO CASTELLI DI JESI CLASSICO SUPERIORE 'SP' RADIZ LA STAFFA 2024 DESCRIPTION

The Verdicchio Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore "SP" Radiz La Staffa was born from the meeting of two shared visions: that of Radiz, the project by Callmewine that was launched directly from the winery, and that of La Staffa, a winery run by young winemaker Riccardo Baldi. Radiz follows the motto "No rules, low impact, 100% wine", balancing environmental ethics and expressiveness. La Staffa, in the heart of Castelli di Jesi, embodies the purity of agricultural activity and loyalty to the territory. The vineyards, cultivated according to certified organic standards, extend over the best sites of San Paolo di Jesi at an altitude of about 400 metres on mineral-rich calcareous clay soils.

The production process of La Staffa's Castelli di Jesi Verdicchio "SP" reflects a respectful and minimalist approach. Only the best grapes are selected during manual harvesting, followed by spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks with indigenous yeasts to preserve freshness and energy. Maturation then takes place in cement tanks, containers that accompany the wine without interfering with its development. No constraints, no shortcuts: just balance, time and respect. This method, which remains faithful to the principle of "low intervention", reflects the shared philosophy of Radiz and La Staffa, namely to create a lively, honest and fully territorial wine.

In the glass, Radiz La Staffa Verdicchio Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore "SP" presents itself with a bright straw yellow colour and golden reflections. The nose opens with notes of wild broom, white peach and Mediterranean herbs such as thyme and fennel, accompanied by a delicate mineral accent. The palate is full-bodied and salty, enlivened by a lively freshness that balances the structure and velvety softness on the mid-palate. The long and spicy finish leaves a hint of rock and citrus fruit, reminiscent of the sea and the hills of Jesi. It is a white wine full of energy and authenticity, combining modernity and tradition: rooted in the earth, with an eye to the future.
