VERDICCHIO DEI CASTELLI DI JESI CLASSICO SUPERIORE LA STAFFA 2024 DESCRIPTION

La Staffa Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore is a genuine and artisanal interpretation of one of the most important denominations in all of Italy reserved for white wines. The soul of the La Staffa winery is Riccardo Baldi, a young producer who took over the winery in 2010, focusing his attention on Verdicchio, the symbol grape of the Castelli di Jesi territory. The foundations of Riccardo's production philosophy are environmental sustainability, evidenced by organic certification, and the artisanal care he dedicates to his wines, aimed at offering the most sincere and pure face of the denomination.

The Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore from La Staffa winery by Riccardo Baldi is a 100% Verdicchio from vines cultivated under certified organic regime on hilly soils located at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level. The soils are clayey and calcareous, while the average age of the vines is about 30 years. Following manual harvesting, the grapes undergo soft pressing, with the the must thus obtained is conveyed into stainless steel and cement tanks, containers in which alcoholic fermentation occurs spontaneously thanks to the sole presence of indigenous yeasts. In the same type of wine containers, the liquid remains to mature for about 6 months, followed by an additional 3 months of aging in the bottle.

The Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore La Staffa has an intense straw yellow color. The olfactory profile is painted with hints of white-fleshed fruit, flowers, hay, and flint, surrounded by pleasant saline and vegetal notes. Clear progression on the palate, with the lively freshness joining the beautiful sapidity in a finish with a strong personality.

When to open
To enjoy an artisanal wine at its best, we recommend you to let it 'breathe' at least 15-30 minutes before serving
When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied white wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
Longevity
You can let it rest in the cellar comfortably for 2-3 years
