The Verdicchio Classico dei Castelli di Jesi “Villa Angela” from the Velenosi winery is a fresh and intense white wine, produced in the wonderful hilly area of the Jesi territory, which gently slopes down from the first ridges of the Apennines towards the Adriatic coast. It is made with pure Verdicchio, the typical grape variety of the Marche, which represents one of the best excellences among our whites for richness, evolutionary capacity, and longevity. The vinification only in steel allows to preserve intact the aromatic profile of the grapes, with floral scents and fragrant fruity aromas. Its tense and very fresh sip makes it particularly pleasant to drink. It is perfect to accompany a fish menu.
The Verdicchio di Jesi “Villa Angela” is produced by one of the most important and famous wineries in the Marche. Velenosi is located in the Ascoli Piceno area and cultivates over 190 hectares in the region's territory. Within a few decades, it has established itself as a true reference point for Marche wine, thanks to a company address oriented towards quality, with a particular focus on enhancing native grape varieties. It is precisely the indissoluble bond with the land of origin that is one of the characteristic traits of the winery, which has significantly contributed to raising the level of Marche wines, always keeping in mind the most attentive and demanding consumers.
“Villa Angela” is a Verdicchio Classico dei Castelli di Jesi produced in a hilly area, at an altitude of about 100 meters above sea level, on medium-textured soils with the presence of sands. The grapes are hand-harvested at a slight over-ripening stage. The grapes undergo a soft pressing and the must is fermented in temperature-controlled steel tanks. Before bottling, the wine matures in steel tanks for several months. It presents a light yellow color with bright golden reflections. On the nose, it expresses floral scents, white-fleshed fruit, fresh almond, and hints of wild herbs. On the palate, it has a good structure, with a rich and expressive sip, with remarkable sapidity and great citrus freshness. A great white to enjoy immediately or to let age for a few years in the bottle to best appreciate its aromatic complexity.
