VERMENTINO COLLI DI LUNI 'ORO D'ISEE' LA BAIA DEL SOLE 2024 DESCRIPTION

The Vermentino Colli di Luni “Oro d’Isee”, produced by La Baia del Sole, is a label dedicated to history and ancient family traditions. It takes its name from Iseo Federici, who in ancient times used to choose the most beautiful and ripe bunches from the most vocated vineyards of the estate, to vinify them separately and obtain a small personal reserve of the best Vermentino, to be enjoyed only on important occasions. A prestigious bottle, reintroduced today for enthusiasts who can share the pleasure of tasting a wine from the memory of the winery.

“Oro d’Isee” is a Vermentino made in the wonderful area of Colli di Luni. La Baia del Sole is a family-run estate, always committed to producing wines with a territorial face and authentic artisanal spirit. The grapes are carefully selected from some vineyards of the estate that are about 25 years old, located in the municipalities of Luni and Castelnuovo Magra, at an altitude between 100 and 200 meters above sea level. The climate Mediterranean, sunny and breezy, the stony soils composed of sands and clays create a perfect habitat for a sea-loving grape variety like Vermentino. The harvest takes place around mid-September, with manual picking and a prefermentative maceration of 24 hours at low temperature. The must, after static decantation, is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of about 16 °C for a couple of weeks. The wine matures for about 3 months in steel tanks on the fine lees, enriching itself with aromas and gaining greater complexity.

The Vermentino Colli di Luni "Oro d'Isée" La Baia del Sole is a particularly rich version of this classic white from the region. A bottle with personality, it is proposed as an ideal companion for seafood first courses, grilled or baked fish, or white meats with simple cooking methods and delicate flavors. In the glass, it presents a light yellow color with bright and shining golden reflections. On the nose, it expresses an intense bouquet, with scents of broom, aromas of apple, peach, melonyellow, banana, hints of medicinal herbs, wild plants of the Mediterranean scrub, and iodized memories. On the palate, it is full-bodied, sunny and harmonious, with ripe and persistent aromas, leading to a balanced, savory finish characterized by good taste length.

When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied white wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
