The Vintage Tunina Magnum is part of the select circle of names that have made history in Italian white wine. Thanks to the work in the vineyard and the passion of the Jermann family and the extraordinary potential of the Friuli territories, more precisely that of Collio. Luigi Veronelli, one of the most important and historic figures in the sector, already had a deep respect for this bottle in 1976 and had assigned it the nickname of "Mennea of Italian wines". Fast and agile, just like the time it takes to drink it. It has broken records and introduced movement and change in the world of Italian whites. Sometimes it is said that bottles reflect the producer and accurately convey all aspects of it. This label provides living proof because it faithfully depicts the spirit, soul, and passion of Silvio Jermann. Despite the numerous accolades, the winery has continued to work to improve its creation, achieving great milestones and prestigious awards such as the "Wine of the Year" from Gambero Rosso already in the 90s and then the Oscar of wine from AIS. It is therefore an exemplary expression, that is, a model wine that has launched the production of whites from Collio.
Jermann Tunina Vintage is a blend of the most famous white grapes of Friuli, capable of combining in one sip the finesse, aromaticity, and softness of Chardonnay and Sauvignon with the typical and high quality of local varieties, such as Malvasia Istriana, Ribolla Gialla, and Picolit. It is a sublime and elegant interpretation, defined by Cesare Pillon as an extraordinary meditative wine, but in an active sense because it makes you reflect and dream. The vineyards, cultivated with the traditional system called "capuccina" extend over 3 hectares and take root in the typical territory of Collio, called ponca, composed of marls and sandstones of ecocenic age. The vinification takes place in steel tanks while the aging is carried out for part of the liquid in Austrian wooden barrels of 60-80 hl.
The Vintage Tunina wine in Magnum formatMagnum presents itself with a straw-yellow cloak edged with golden hues. The nose is kaleidoscopic, lively, and intense, alternating bursts of exotic yellow fruit with sensations of wildflowers and precious puffs of saffron and honey. Essence of citrus, gusts of aromatic herbs, and mineral nuances in the second instance. The sip has great personality and character, showing a vibrant freshness that guides all the tasting components. The structure is solid and compact, without being intrusive. Rich and seductive, it concludes with a long-lasting finish. Its great drinkability pulls you all the way through!
