The Cottanera winery, located on the northern slopes of Etna at an altitude of 730 metres above sea level, was founded in the 1960s by Francesco Cambria. On the black lands of Etna the cultivation of the vine is a tradition, a millenary heritage, that Gugliemo and Enzo Cambria, sons of Francesco, inherited from their father in the 1990s, starting a revitalisation of the company aimed at enhancing the wine heritage of Etna. Reconverting the old vineyards with new plants and focusing on the renovation of the winery, the company has managed to make its production philosophy an absolute strength, which has led Cottanera to excel in the national wine scene.
A challenge that has also involved the third generation of the family: Mariangela, Francesco and Emanuele, who, with their passion and love for an exclusive terroir created by Etna's lava flow, have contributed to making Cottanera a modern wine-growing centre where quality always comes first.
