Hartmann Donà

Hartman Donà winery is based in Cermes, a small town south of Merano. Here Hartman owns a vineyard very steep, with a slope of about 70 degrees, and possesses another near Bolzano. Hartmann is a wine expert, graduated in the University of Geisenheim in Germany, and worked in Terlano Winery. In 2000, however, he began to make wine himself and in 2002 he left the Terlano winery to devote himself to his vineyards and his wines, merely occasional advice from some important Italian wineries. The vineyards of Hartmann Dona have a very rich in mineral soil, the vines are very old and produce only limited amounts of small-berry clusters, in which the deep roots give all the characteristics of the terroir; the wine that is obtained is very typical, elegant, not very alcoholic and very pleasant to drink. Hartmann in his vineyards grown mainly Pinot Noir and Schiava, but does not mind small amounts of Lagrein, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer. Excellent all the wines produced by Hartman Dona, but on all the emerging Dona Rouge and Gewurztraminer, that in 2010 the Espresso guide voted as the best Gewurztraminer of the year.
