BOLGHERI ROSSO SUPERIORE GUADO AL TASSO - ANTINORI 2022 DESCRIPTION

Tenuta Guado al Tasso's Bolgheri Superiore from Marchesi Antinori is a prestigious Tuscan Supertuscan, a symbol par excellence of Bolgheri terroir and Italian red wine. It is one of the spearheads of the entire Maremma terroir, which, thanks to its elegance and charm, has become a flagship of our peninsula's wine production. Its success is mainly linked to the centuries-old tradition of the Marchesi Antinori family and the great territory surrounding the vines, nicknamed by many authors "the Bolgheri amphitheatre" for its unique and rare beauty.

Bolgheri Guado al Tasso is one of the world's best-known and most highly regarded Italian expressions, produced primarily from a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The grapes, harvested and destemmed by hand, are hand-selected at the winery, preferring only the ripest bunches. After an initial short period of fermentation in steel barrels, the grapes are left to mature in wood for an additional year, at the end of which, the best lots are blended and placed for another 6 months in small barrels before bottling.

The Bolgheri Rosso Superiore Tenuta Guado al Tasso wine is dark ruby red in colour, not shining like the precious stone, but fascinating and enticing. It smells of intense and complex fragrances initially reminiscent of ripe red fruit that gradually take leave to make way for spicy and woody notes, with hints of chocolate and leather. It excites at first taste for the refinement and richness of sensations that seduce all the senses. The balance on the palate is absolute and harmonious, in which all the taste components are calibrated to perfection and envelop the palate with silky elegance. A lady in red with great charm!
