La Braccesca is a winery owned by Marchesi Antinori. The Marchesi Antinori has started investing in this area, one of the most interesting parts of Tuscany and Italy, in the early 90s. At that time the Nobile di Montepulciano was recently opened his "second Renaissance", although the wines of Montepulciano were already famous even long before this years. The area of Cortona, however, is open to the production of quality wines only in recent years: become a DOC in 1999, has seen a restructuring of its vineyards from white grapes in red, or rather, this is not a conversion but a conscious return to the roots: in the past were, in fact, red wines to prevail in this area and choice of grapes such as Merlot and Syrah has been grafted on an ancient local tradition and renewed it.
